PowerUp! Podcast - The Art of Receiving and Giving Part One
PODCAST DESCRIPTION
Created by Ella Mesma and Ama Rouge, PowerUp! is a podcast that seeks to empower and dismantle, giving us the power and confidence to question, deconstruct, rebuild and expand in life.
Hosted by two womxn of black and mixed heritage with over 30 combined years working in the dance, movement and creative industries.
We share our journeys and tools to help you on your personal journey to your authentic self. We recognise that we can’t dismantle and empower - or be empowered, without first learning ourselves. Diving deeper to unlearn the harmful, restrictive and unprogressive. It's an ongoing practise and journey for us all, which is why we created this podcast.
Our show features guests doing the work to enlighten, deconstruct and power up in their own magical ways. We lead conversations around topics of healing, transformation, wellbeing and creativity looking at how they feed our personal and collective evolution. How they help us PowerUp!
EPISODE DESCRIPTION
Trigger Warning: In this episode we talk about consent, we always aim to engage thoughtfully and with compassion. For anyone processing trauma around consent we want to empower you to choose whether you listen to this episode or not. If you are affected by anything discussed in this episode, we have provided links to organisations you may find helpful below
This week we are joined by our first VIP guest Robyn Dalzen, Intimacy Coach, Consent Facilitator and Pleasure Activist to explore the domain of consent. Until we understand our own domain we cannot really make an informed choice. What are you comfortable with? What are your boundaries? Where are your limits?
Ex-Mormon turned Pleasure Revolutionary, Robyn is an international coach and facilitator and is passionate about helping people find what brings them joy — in their body and in their life. Her work is at the intersection of mindfulness, consent, embodiment and sexuality: guiding people to slow down and bring awareness to what they desire, practice the skills to communicate those desires, and create clear agreements to receive exactly what they want.
Robyn is co-founder of the School of Consent with Dr. Betty Martin, creator of the Wheel of Consent. She is a certified Transformational Leadership Coach, a certified Wheel of Consent® Facilitator, a certified Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE®) provider, and a Sexological Bodyworker in training. She is also a collaborator and coach with Self:Cervix.
