6 Agreements for Dating & Dating Apps

Dating, hookups, and dating apps send many of us into emotional tailspins… “Is this it? Should I settle? “Am I destined to be alone?”
So maybe we pick up the speed, but eventually we get worn out, our hope fades, and we get off the treadmill with our alone-ness facing us in the mirror.
It doesn’t have to be that way. It can be different. Dating and connection can be easier, more joy-filled, and much more full of pleasure.
In this six-week course, 6 Agreements for Dating and Dating Apps, led by Adam Bee and Robyn Dalzen, we will take a deep dive into how you can fundamentally change the ways you show up for yourself.
This process will bring clarity to
  • what you want in dating
  • who you want to be dating
  • what you’re no longer going to tolerate (and how to notice it before you’re in it)
  • how you’re going to ask people to step closer to you
  • ease in saying no to the folks you don’t want to spend time with.
Each week we will explore one of the six agreements through somatic practices, sharing, reflections, and fishbowl exercises.
These six agreements are consistent across all relationships — with others and with ourselves — and in this course we will specifically look at how they show up in dating.
Applying these 6 agreements can be life-changing. They are also affirming, reminding us of who we truly are and how we’re going to show up in this work.
6 Agreements for Dating and Dating Apps
Thursdays at 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM ET
Jan 18 - Feb 22, 2024
on Zoom
Bringing greater awareness to these agreements helps us hone and refine our desires and how we want to show up for ourselves.
They help us understand our limits and boundaries.
They help us feel more settled and grounded in our desires.
But most of all, they help us learn how to create relationships where we get to show up fully, ask for what we want, and be present in our bodies.
This group is a practice in presence, values, and love. It is an emergent embodiment of the agreements and how to navigate them with more ease.
I am asking all participants to bring their full selves to this class – physically, emotionally, energetically. That means your vulnerabilities, fears, feelings of shame, desires, and pleasure.

ABOUT ADAM BEE

Adam is a mentor, guide, and facilitator based in NYC.
Their 1-1 and group work center around questions of desire, consent, power, integrity, relationships, sex, and how to navigate it all with more ease.
Their work is influenced by many teachers and thinkers including Paul Muller Ortega and his guidance within the Shaiva-Sakta non-dual lineage of tantra, Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent, Resmaa Menakem’s Somatic Abolitionism, as well as many other spiritual and energetic teachers.
Adam’s work with the Wheel of Consent over the last 5 years led them to further inquiries into how we create spaces of agreement that generate more love, pleasure, and fulfillment.

ABOUT ROBYN DALZEN

Robyn’s work is at the intersection of mindfulness, consent, embodiment, and sexuality.
As a somatic coach and facilitator, she is an expert at guiding you to bring awareness to what you want in your life and to communicate those desires.
Robyn has been working in this space since 2016 and has had the opportunity to guide hundreds of people through a process of self-discovery in workshops, private sessions, and at Tantra and sexuality festivals across North America, Europe, and Australia.
Robyn is grateful for the influence of her teachers — sensual embodiment leaders Regena Thomashauer, creator of The School of Womanly Arts, and Sheila Kelley, creator of S Factor, as well as the Grand Dame of Consent and creator of the Wheel of Consent, Dr. Betty Martin.

WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN

Each week we will explore one of the agreements and how it shows up in our lives pertaining to our group's theme.
This is an emergent process so there is not a set agenda, how we flow depends on the energy and curiosities of the group. Within that, we will utilize fishbowl mentoring, teachings, Q&As, breakouts, listening turns, and somatic experiments.
Each week we will bring extended focus onto one of the agreements with an understanding that they are all layered and interconnected. They each present differently in each of us and in each of our relationships.
Week 1 – Responsibility
Week 2 – Consent
Week 3 – Curiosity
Week 4 – Dynamics
Week 5 – Trust
Week 6 – Presence
In addition to our six 90-minute group sessions, you’ll get…
  • A 30-minute 1-1 session with Adam
  • Online workbook questions for inquiry

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be present in class. I’m asking each participant to do their best to be physically present for each class. Our work will be interactive and depends on you being there. And, we trust you’ll take care of yourself as you know how.
  • To be present out of class. There will be contemplations and inquiries for you to consider outside of class.
  • To be vulnerable. Any exploration of desire requires vulnerability and when we talk about desires in the realm of physical intimacy, the challenges of living in a society dominated by purity culture will surface.
  • To be honest. Honesty is critical for trust and I’m asking each of you to be radically honest with yourself.
  • To hold the group in confidence. I am inviting you into a deeply vulnerable place of community and healing. That is hard to do if we cannot hold each other in confidence.
  • To ask permission before taking. This includes the way we take time, space, and energy. It is related to the agreement of consent and we hold that value tightly.

APPLICATIONS, REGISTRATION, AND PAYMENT

A group like this requests your time, energy, presence, and money.
These all represent barriers to entry and if you’re someone who lives in a body that is traditionally marginalized and intentionally exploited, those barriers are usually greater.
While I do my best to create and hold groups that bring awareness to power, privilege, and rank – I know I cannot dismantle systems of oppression that exist in our cultures, groups, and interpersonal relationships.
In an effort to ease at least one of those dynamics, pricing is based on a sliding scale.
If you can afford to pay more than the base price, please do and understand that it helps support those who do not have as many financial resources.
If you cannot afford the base price, understand that you are helped and supported by others.
Base tuition: $400
Sliding scale: $200 - $700
